“There’s just something about dark skinned women that I just can’t shake… Yeah, the light skinned and mixed women are attractive too, but the dark skinned women will always have my heart.”

If this is true….damn…..

William Lynch stated in his letter in 1712…, (whom was a BRITISH slave owner. Yes the British were a part of this too.) Anyways he goes on to say…
"You must use the DARK skin slaves vs. the LIGHT skin slaves, and the LIGHT skin slaves vs. the DARK skin slaves. You must use the FEMALE vs. the MALE, and the MALE vs. the FEMALE. You must also have white servants and overseers [who] distrust all Blacks."
So yes, it’s true. SMDH.

And the effects still ripple through our community today. This is one of the many reasons we can’t just “get over it” in regards to slavery. Destruction of the black community, stolen wealth, sexism, and much more stem from slavery. I truly believe we did not have these issues in pre-slavery African societies.

Don’t let them trip you up. We need solidarity all around.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Lynch_speech
